New teachers for the day!!!

Today the year 7 and 8s were are new teachers. We buddied up and learnt lots from our senior buddies. Thank you so much year 7 and 8's we had a fantastic day! Take a look at what we got up to...

This week we have been learning about fraction and also reading the big book "The Kings Cake". Today we made our own little cake and cut them into fractions. Look at what we got up to...

Fractions!

We are learning all about fractions. This video clip helped us to understand 1 whole, 1/2 and 1/4.

WW1 Creative Arts Exhibit

Yesterday we went to the WW1 exhibit  at the creative arts centre. We learnt about three local families; The Pennycooks, the Younsons and the O'Haras. Each of these families experienced hope, grief and valour during the time of WW1.

 

 

We also learnt about the Balclutha cenotaph and then we went and visited it!

Ratty Tatty Cat

Last week we read the big book 'Ratty Tatty Cat'. We loved the story and created our own Ratty Tatty Cat's.

Editing Eyes

When we have finished writing we use our editing eyes and editing pens.  We read our stories to our editing eyes and we make sure we fix up our capital letters, full stops and words we have on our word cards.

We love using our editing eyes, as they help us a lot!

Perfect Plays!

Last week the super star reading group performed The 3 Little Pigs. They did a great job and we liked how the created their set and used expression in their voices.

 

Today the Minions performed 'Blackberries'. We liked how they used big, clear voices and put costumes on.
