Maths work today

 Finn, Hunter and James created a whole playground out of shapes!
 Kate and Cassie were putting together maths puzzles.
They know that maths is full of patterns and that helped them to solve their puzzles!

Playdough beach

Cassie, Max, Hunter and James were very creative today during reading. They created a beach scene out of play dough. If you look very closely you will spot a person reading the paper and even a birds nest. Super teamwork guys!

Insect mobiles continued...


 Sophie and Daniel found out lots about wasps. 
We have had a lot of experiences with wasps; Sophie, Sam I and Mrs Carmichael have all been stung by one in the classroom!
Cassie's Dad stood on a wasp nest and got stung twice, OUCH!

Kate, Mac and Emily found out that stick insects can grow up to 55 cm long!
Nga and Sam O learnt that ladybugs are a type of beetle.

Maths work

Jessie and Kate worked hard during maths today and wrote the numbers from 1 to 200. Impressive maths work girls!

Under 20's FIFA world cup

Today we went into the rec center to see the under 20's soccer cup which was touring the country. We got to have our photo with the cup and do lots of fun activities.

Insect mobiles


 
 We all researched our favourite insects and came up with 5 fast facts about them.
 

 

 Cassie, Max and Joss learnt a lot about butterflies.
Nicole and Mykaelah learnt that ants work really hard to build their nests.

Cooper, Hunter and Jack were surprised to learn that dragonflies can eat tadpoles!

 
James and Finn found out that flies beat their wings 120 each second!
 Jessie and Sam I found that bumblebees are actually hairy.

Mrs Preddy's van skid!

Today after school Mrs Preddy got stuck in the van on the grass. We all had to push the van to help get her out. It was REALLY funny. This is a photo of her skid!

Mykaelah's reading

Mykaelah read to the class today. We like how she read using the punctuation and expression. We also liked the book she choose because it was funny!

We went hunting with the seniors to see if we could find some new bugs and then identify them using the computers to help us.

Rippa

Today we had rippa with Olivia. We had heaps of fun and learnt some new rippa skills. We practiced our try scoring and got lots of fantastic photos but unfortunately Miss Cowie accidentally deleted them :(. But next time we will get some up!

I heard the helicopter it went chop, chop, chop. I got a goodie bag, the chippies were yum! I like the flag too.

Welcome Nga

Today we were lucky because we had  new students arrive at our school. Welcome Nga to our classroom and Toku to the senior room.

Highlanders visit

Wow we have had a very exciting morning! Aaron Smith, Jo Wheeler and Malakai Fekitoa came to visit us and arrived in a.....HELICOPTER!





 They even signed our school! :)


 We thought we better show the highlanders our Otago tank!
