Pirate Party Day

Today we dressed as pirates and had an adventurous treasure hunt. Thank you to the seniors who helped hide our treasure and help us read our map instructions.

Otago Art Society Youth Awards

Last week we all entered a piece of art into the Otago Art Society Youth Awards. We all worked hard and produced a wonderful piece of art. In particular, well done to Joss who won a prize for her very creative mask and Mac who got 3rd for his peacock art. Ka pai, we are very proud of you two!

The Water Cycle in a bag!

When the water heats up it will evaporate and when it cools the water vapour will condense and it will 'rain' inside the bag.

Our water drop adventures

Where does the water go when you flush the toilet?

We are learning about the water cycle and we wondered where the water goes after you flush the toilet? We discussed were we thought it went and then watch the video below which helped us to learn even more.

We then shrunk ourselves into tiny water drops and went on our own adventure through the water treatment process.
We started off as dirty water. First the rubbish (a dirty shoe and a lost bracelet) was taken out. The bacteria was then added to gobble up the nasty parts. We then separated the solids from the clean liquid and we were able to return to the river and sea as clean water drops!
