Introducing our 2016 class!

The three little pigs

Today Cassie, Max, Hunter, Xavier, James and Cooper performed the 'Three Little Pigs'. We liked how Max (big bad wolf) landed in a pot of hot water. We also liked how they used the props and  created their houses.

Maths work today

 Finn, Hunter and James created a whole playground out of shapes!

 Kate and Cassie were putting together maths puzzles.

They know that maths is full of patterns and that helped them to solve their puzzles!

Playdough beach

Cassie, Max, Hunter and James were very creative today during reading. They created a beach scene out of play dough. If you look very closely you will spot a person reading the paper and even a birds nest. Super teamwork guys!

Insect mobiles

 

 We all researched our favourite insects and came up with 5 fast facts about them.

 

 

 Cassie, Max and Joss learnt a lot about butterflies.

Nicole and Mykaelah learnt that ants work really hard to build their nests.



Cooper, Hunter and Jack were surprised to learn that dragonflies can eat tadpoles!



 

James and Finn found out that flies beat their wings 120 each second!

 Jessie and Sam I found that bumblebees are actually hairy.

I heard the helicopter it went chop, chop, chop. I got a goodie bag, the chippies were yum! I like the flag too.

Vvvvvvvvv went the helicopter. “Yahoo” said Romahapa kids. Everyone got lollies and a flag. Their names are Aaron Smith, Jo Wheeler and Malakai Fekitoa.

Super maths work

 James and Cooper made 100 with lots of different materials, great job boys!

 Kate and Sophie choose to make 7 lots of different ways because "we are 7" :).

 We figured our Max's number must be 20 because he has two groups of 10!

 

Today Cassie and Nicole finished their thousands books! Congratulations girls, you have worked hard.

Bug Hunt

This term we are studying insects. We were scientists and went for a bug hunt around school. Look what we found...

We found slaters, slugs, worms, beetles and earwigs. We looked at them through magnifying glasses to help us see them.

Technology Room

During this term the builders, painters, joiners and carpet layers have been finishing our new technology room. It looks fantastic and we can't wait to use it.

It was really interesting watching it being built and sometimes really noisy! We have done some writing about our experience.

Bang! Clang! How much longer? Day by day, night by night! It feels like it going to go on forever. Wood, tin, builders are everywhere. What’s going to happen next? Day by day see how the building grows and grows. Finally the computer room is finished.
