School Camp!!

We had such a fantastic week at Camp Iona. The weather was great and we got to see some amazing places. Take a look at what we got up to!

 

 We had lots of fun at Elephant rocks. We found the creatures hidden within the rocks and climbed all over them.

We went to the art gallery and learnt about an artist who creates her work by knitting. This piece took over 5 years to create!

At steampunk we found some amazing creations.

At Totara Estate we learnt about how the farm ran in the olden days. Totara Estate was the first farm in New Zealand to export its frozen meat.

We had a go at being 'swaggers' and sleeping under the stars.

On Thursday it was a lovely afternoon for a dip in the creek beside camp.

  

 

Firewise!

Yesterday Amy the fire-fighter came to school and taught us how to be firewise. We learnt what fire-fighter do and what we need to do in a fire.

It was Brooklyn's first day at school and she got to dress up as our class fire-fighter! I think you might need to grow into that uniform though! :)

Our adventures!

Pet Day!

On Friday we had our pet day. It was a fantastic day apart from the chilly weather! We had lots of different pets arrive at school and heaps of effort was put into our crafts:)

Cricket skills

Today we had cricket coaching from Tama and Tim. It was raining so we had to take a little trip to the hall!

We were even lucky enough to get a goody bag each. Thanks a lot Tama and Tim!

Balloon writing

Today we wrote poems about some of our favourite colours. We then published them on a balloon :)

Measurement

This week we are learning how to measure things.
At first we weren't sure how to measure correctly but we came up with 3 rules to help us...
1) Measure in a straight line.
2) Use the same equipment.
3) Don't have any gaps between the equipment.
